About Our Attorneys
Joseph J. Bell Jr. has practiced since 1985 and is well-known by the legal community and the citizenry of North Jersey. He was elected years ago as County Clerk in Morris County, and maintains an active municipal law practice. Bell & Hassing currently serves as legal counsel for Warren County and several municipalities in Morris County. Earlier in his career, Joe served as both a public prosecutor and public defender, providing key insights for protecting the interests of our clients facing criminal charges. His LL.M. (master's degree) in employment law also serves clients in employment discrimination litigation or employer consulting.
Erik Hassing has packed considerable experience into his eight years of practice. He served as a judicial law clerk for the chief judge in Union County, New Jersey, then five years as a misdemeanor and felony prosecutor for the District Attorney's office in the Bronx, New York. Before joining Bell & Hassing, Erik worked for another New Jersey firm in the area of medical malpractice and personal injury defense. These experiences provide distinct advantages for our clients in anticipating the tactics of prosecutors, employers and insurance companies.
